26 & 28 Church Lane. Application withdrawn

You may remember that last February planning permission was granted for the demolition of two houses at 26 & 28 Church Lane and their replacement with two blocks containing 19 flats for the elderly.

The development was strongly opposed by a large number of residents who, amongst other objections, feared for the safety of the elderly occupiers that this proposal was aimed at because they believed that there would be no safe way for them to cross Church Lane either on foot or using electrical buggies.

We have been told that the applicant, Wren Homes, has not completed the necessary legal agreement in this case and, despite the Council's resolution to approve the development, the application has now been withdrawn.
