Windsor and Maidenhead plan unsound

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is one of 8 English local authorities to have had its Core Strategy thrown out by a Government Planning Inspector. Millions of pounds of taxpayers money have been wasted as the Councils are told to start again.The Green Belt is left defenceless against developers.

The Council leader there said:

"The inspector's view is that sticking to existing boundaries is not in the best interests of the local community. It's good to know that the inspector's view on local land allocation is more important than those of councillors who know the area and represent the expressed wishes of residents!"
